The Rural City of Murray Bridge is on the banks of the mighty Murray River and offers a relaxed atmosphere with lots of wide open space. Its a family friendly community with lots of parks and gardens like Sturt Reserve which is a fantastic place for a BBQ or a picnic.



Attractions

The area has a number of attractions to keep you and the family busy. Go on safari at Australia’s largest open plain zoo, located at Monarto. The zoo has some of Africa’s impressive animals, including lions, cheetahs, giraffes and rhinos. Take a trip back to yesteryear with a cruise down the Murray on a paddle steamer.

Water Sports

The area is well known for its watersports with water skiing, wake boarding and general boating along the river. There are a number of boat ramps along the river with plenty of parking, to allow you to find a quiet spot on the river to yourself. If you are after something a little more relaxed then why not take a canoe or kayak, to paddle along the river and wetlands. You can bring your own or hire one from one of the local operators.

Murray Bridge is considered the shopping capital of the Murray River, Lakes & Coorong District with a couple of shopping centres and a newly revitalised Sixth Street shopping precinct.

How to get here

Murray Bridge is just an hours drive from the centre of Adelaide. Its a nice easy drive along the freeway, once you have crossed the Adelaide Hills you are greeted with views through the hills, which in the Spring are dotted with Canola fields.
